| Jak is quite tall (5’8 feet for 165 pounds as stated in the character stats) and bulky. He has blue eyes and messy blond hair with green roots. His facial hair (eyebrows and goatee) are also green. His skin is lightly tanned. He’s always wearing a pair of racing goggles up on his forehead. Despite what 50%of the fandom thinks, he’s not an elf. For the long ears; go ask Darwin or mister Spok. Jak has also two other appearance as the poor guy suffers from some kind of “Dr Jekyll and mister hide” complex. When he’s particularly pissed off, he’s turned into a beast. His skin and hair grow white and his eyes become totally black. He also has a pair of dark horns and claws. He can control this transformation the most part of the time. | Jak is reserved and slightly introverted but he’s courageous and loyal to his friends. He’s rather nice with everyone but he wouldn’t let anyone tread on his toes. He doesn’t have anger issues that often and can be really patient, in particular with his noisy and sometimes really annoying friend Daxter. He always keeps hope even when the situation is not good and is, the most part of the time, ready to help people (excepted if he doesn’t like you, in that case, he’d just turn his head and walk away.). He feels easily concerned about his friends. His attitude toward danger is rather abnormal, during the game, Jak is considered by some characters as reckless and dangerous. He doesn’t hesitate to put his life on the line and tend to think while acting instead of thinking before. He likes challenges and extreme sensations (speed, danger…). He suffers from the fact he can change into some kind of monster and a bit from what the others could think about him |

| Before introducing Jak’s past there are two important things to know about the game’s universe. The legends say that Jak’s world had been created by the precursors, a group of supernatural beings using an advanced technology (as teleportation or canalisation of the energy…). The precursor are omnipresent in Jak’s world, they left behind them buildings, temples and machines. It seems that people consider them as gods but no one knows who they really were. They left the planet long time ago. The “eco” is the main form of energy. There are different forms of eco (green/blue/yellow/red/white), the most dangerous one being Dark eco. Dark eco has the ability to warp and mutate things and people. Eco is really common in his world: it’ll be difficult for Jak to understand that a world without Eco exists. Jak grew up in a quiet village near the sea with his best friend Daxter . Being an orphan, he was raised by the local sage. As all kids, they enjoyed playing pranks and disobeying to the adults. One day they deliberately went to the only place where they were told to do not go. Unfortunately their little escapade had serious consequences. Daxter fell into a pool of dark eco and was turned into a fuzzy orange rodent. In order to turn him back into a Human, the two boys travelled through the whole continent. During this travel, Jak discovered he could channel eco and use its energy to interact with the precursor artefacts. At the end of the first game, Daxter remains a rodent. The boys discover what seems to be a teleportation gate. At the beginning of the second game, the boys went through the teleportation ring and were sent in a place called Haven city, the future of their world. Haven was an ill called city governed by a tyrant. Outside the city walls, the situation wasn’t better; the lands were invaded by monstrous creatures called the metal heads. Jak’s ability for channelling eco was easily noticed and for that reason he had been imprisoned and used like a lab rat. He unwillingly took part to the “dark warrior project”. Dark eco had been injected into his body in order to enhance his fighting capacities. The process was painful; he’d been tortured for two years. Jak was freed by Daxter , however, due to his long exposition to dark eco he had changed, he was now able to turn himself into a beast like creature, violent and powerful. There are hints during the game that tells us that Jak doesn’t entirely control his transformations. Desiring to take revenge upon his torturers, he joined the resistance forces, taking part into two wars at the same time; one against the tyrant and the other against the metal heads. The resistance force’s leader was an ancient city guard called Torn. He still had contact with the guard and also with the tyrant’s daughter; Ashelin. Ashelin’s goal was to protect the city, she occasionally helped Jak and the resistance. One of the resistance force’s goals was to put back the real heir of the city, a young little boy, on the throne of Haven. The little boy also seemed to be the one who could put an end to the war against the metal heads. It’s revealed later in the game that Jak and the boy were the same person. The kid was too young to fulfil his destiny , so, he was sent in the past, in a peaceful era where he could grow up until he was old enough to go back to Haven. Jak defeated the tyrant of heaven and the head of the metal heads. Ashelin temporally took the head of Heaven city until a council was formed. At the beginning of the third game, the situation of Heaven was still not bright. The city was still in war against the remaining metal heads and thee was some kind of internal conflict. The head of the new council of Haven took the decision to banish Jak from Haven for supposed crimes against the city and mainly because he’d been exposed to dark eco. Despite her position among the council, Ashelin couldn’t help him. Jak was abandoned to die into the wasteland, a desert area. Daxter followed him. They were rescued by the wastelanders, a community of former Havenites banished from the city. Jak discovered that there existed an organized city with a king outside Haven; Spargus; city of the wastelanders. In order to stay in Spargus, he had to prove to king Damas that he could be useful to the community. Blessed by the precursors, Jak gained the ability to channel white Eco, it calmed his anger and gave him more control over his dark eco power. I’m taking Jak from that point of the game. Jak is a skilled driver and is good at using guns. He can also pretty well fight with his bare hands. He’s the athletic kind. He’s not a “brain” but he understands and learns fast. He can be really dangerous while he’s under his dark form. His strength increases and his anger too. |
| Worst nightmare : |
Losing control. His whole body hurts, they are injecting him dark Eco again. His muscles ache, he’s transforming. Jak is stuck in his dark form, he can’t turn back to normal and he’s harming his friends. |
